*Domino Park’s in-vessel composter efficiently turns food scraps and park plant material into compost in as little as two weeks. Due to this method, some compostable items cannot be processed.
Zero Waste:
Consider making your drop-off zero waste – bring your food scraps in a reusable bucket.
Finished Compost:
All of the compost generated through this program is used at Domino Park and/or redistributed to the North Brooklyn community free of charge. If you are interested in taking some compost – or know of a park, community garden, organization that could use some -- please let the staff member at the drop-off table know.
Social Distancing:
In these challenging times, the well-being of our community is of the utmost importance.
Please follow the guidance of the NYC Department of Health:
- Wear a face covering
- Stay home if you feel sick
- Wash your hand frequently
- Keep 6’ away from others
#Saveourcompost:
Domino Park started this public-facing initiative in response to organics recycling being cut from the municipal budget. Please support the #saveourcompost initiative and help bring municipal composting back to New York City.
